Dear potential Stallholder,
The months since the February 22 earthquake and have been stressful for many in our community as they have faced up to the loss of loved ones, property, and income.
At Glenfalloch Station we want to give people a few hours break from the stress and the strain, which is why we’ve decided to thrown open our gates to the public and invite people to spend a day on our high country station.
Glenfalloch is a working high country station situated at the headwaters of the Rakaia river, a two-hour drive from Christchurch , offering boutique accommodation and conferencing facilities for small groups.
On Sunday, July 24, we want to open up the property to the public so people can come here and relax for a day among the beautiful countryside. While here people will be able to enjoy some free entertainment and browse our market.
We believe a day out in the countryside is just what the doctor ordered and we would like to invite you to join us in bringing some cheer to those affected by the earthquake.
My children and I visited your stall at different markets and loved your produce and would be thrilled if you would participate in our July 24th “ Escape The City For A Day "
Previous community events held at Glenfalloch Station have proved very successful and we believe that is reasonable to expect between 1000 and 1500 people will come through the gates if the weather is fine.
Our plans for the event have already attracted media interest and we are determined to make it a great success.
There is a $25 stall-holder fee but all that money will be donated to the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Fund.
The time has flown by and we’re now only days away from our much anticipated Escape the City family fun day. It’s going to be a great day out in the country for quake-rattled Christchurch residents and we hope you’re still keen to join in the festivities.
After being forced to postpone the event -we have spent months planning this event, which we hope will provide those affected by the Canterbury quakes a chance to relax and forget about their worries for at least a few hours.
We’ve sent out invites far and wide and we’re expecting a great turn out on Sunday, July 24.We have pre-sold 320 tickets over the last week.
In addition to the farmers market, we’ve planned free entertainment and an art exhibition. There will also be plenty of opportunities for people to explore the rugged high country that makes up our stunning backyard.
We’ve been working hard to get the station ready for the event and we will be erecting two large marquees and some smaller tents in our front paddocks to accommodate all the stall-holders. This means all you need to do on the day is turn up with your wares and start selling! If you have a spare trestle table we would appreciate if you could bring it up. Please fill the form out with your requirements.
There is now lashings of snow on the mountains and the countryside is looking at its wintry best so we hope you can head on up to Glenfalloch and help us create a magical day out for our city guests. It should be a great fun!
